Somewhere online, there are two of you. One listing has your real hours. The other has hours from a location you closed two years ago, a phone number you disconnected, or a name your business used before you rebranded. Google can't tell which one to trust, so it shows both and lets the customer guess.
ChatGPT does the same guessing, just faster. Ask it where to go for what you do, and it picks whichever listing looks most complete: more reviews, more recent photos, a cleaner address. If that's not your listing, it hands your customer to someone else with your name in a different zip code.
It's not that customers stopped searching for you. A computer somewhere flipped a coin between you and your evil twin, and the twin won.
The Leak Has a Name
We call it AI Confusion: too many versions of you scattered across directories, and no algorithm sure which one is real. Old Yelp profiles. A Google entry from before your move. A Yellow Pages listing nobody has touched since 2019. Every mismatched one of them is a vote against the real you.
You don't need to understand how any of it works to fix it. You need to know it's broken, and close it.
Grab Zak and Go Find It
This is where Zak earns his scarf. Point him at your business name and he goes door to door through every directory carrying it, flagging the wrong hours, the dead phone number, the duplicate profile, so you know exactly what's bleeding customers to the wrong listing.
Then you close it. That's the whole job.
